My desire to sing drove me to Nashville in January of 2000, at the age of nineteen.
I began working on a career in music hoping to find "my music." I was searching for songs, and a musical direction, so I could shop a demo. The hunt became very long. I was frustrated waiting for the right songs. I wanted to sing now!

Fed up with my search for songs, I started writing on my own.

Soon after this, I had a particularly inspiring conversation with a close friend. We were talking about how the people in our lives seem to come in a season, in seemingly odd, yet perfectly planned periods of time. My oh-so-articulate friend (who had always been a mecca of knowledge) replied with a metaphor: "Orbit."
Those are the people that are in your Orbit, people going in constant motion, circling around each other, swinging in and out for lessons, seasons, and reasons." This rang a burst of thoughts through my head including sparks of lyric.
This conversation turned into a song called "Orbit" that became a personal marker for me as a singer and songwriter. I remember listening to the recording of the song right after it was finished and just being overwhelmed with emotion. It was one of those moments that gave me confirmation and reassurance that music is what I'm supposed to do. I always had that big-old-knock-down passion for music, but after that night I felt like I got a little pat on the back from God, saying "Go on now, don't be scared, I really did give you this to use". I was charged up after making that recording!
A few weeks later, while roaming around in an art store, I spotted a round canvas. So was born the companion painting to "Orbit." In the past year I have been working on an album of colorful songs with accompanying visual creations.

Here I am plugging away, expressing my views with a visual sound, through paint, notes, heart and soul.
