The Orphans

An eclectic, Chicago based band. Made up of multi-instrumentalists, all drawing from different influences and backgrounds. This is probably why categorizing their sound or style has depended on the listener. They've been categorized as alternative-rock, alternative-country, and even celtic-influenced-folk-rock. The main players are; Angelo Santucci (guitars, keyboards, mandolin, vocals), Pat Turner (guitars, vocals), Chris Greene (violin, mandolin, percussion), T.J. Pavletic (bass), Jim Figiel (drums, percussion, guitar).

They've had the opportunity to play some higher profile events. This includes: ASCAP's "Writers in the Round" in Los Angeles, CA, South by Southwest in Austin, TX, the Midwest Music Summit in Indianapolis, IN, the Folk Alliance Conference in Jacksonville, FL.

As for recording, they're working on their fifth CD hoping for a fall 05' release. Previous realeses: Cowboyville"(02), "A Clear Moment"(99), "Just Another Line"(97), and "Trying To Get Along"(96).

"Cowboyville" - Orphans employ an eclectic array of instruments to produce an expansive rock sound with strong rootsy flavors. Santucci's songwriting polish shows, with classic structure and melodic invention that only someone who's made music his vocation could provide."
