The release of Alli Collis’ debut album, with violets, is catching the ear of those who listen, including fellow songwriters and musicians. “There is definitely a feeling of triumph with the completion of this new album,” says Alli. “The songs musically showcase the development of my craft and lyrically translate some of my travel and emotional experiences.” The nine tracks are stylistically diverse, ranging from the gritty blues-folk of ‘Jealousy’ to the reggae-esque, folk-pop social commentary of ‘Mr. Stranger’. According to Richard Hughes, President of the Long Island Music Coalition, some common threads throughout are, “…Collis’ tastefully picked guitar, beautiful vocals and some pretty damn poetic lyrics.” | ||
