Words Now Heard Biography Not your typical band, Words Now Heard is comprised of one man with a mission of overtaking the world-one fan at a time. Hailing from South Florida, singer/songwriter Chris Martin has created quite a name for himself in the past 3 years. Armed only with an acoustic guitar and a melodically inclined voice, he has played to crowds ranging from thirty, to 3,000 enthusiastic fans. Playing alongside bands whose styles range from blues and jazz, pop, and hardcore punk, he has proved himself as not-only a talented artist, but a gifted performer. With a belief that music is freedom, his stage show is versatile and heartfelt-he will play with any band, at any time. Chris began playing in local clubs in 2001, and has since then played hundreds of shows, self-released two albums, and toured the country throughout the east-coast and Midwest. Playing with bands such as Matt Nathanson (Universal), Dashboard Confessional (Vagrant),Thursday (Island), Brand New (DreamWorks), Andrew W.K. (Island), The Used(Reprise), Goldfinger (Jive), Fall Out Boy (Island), Thrice (Island), Lucky Boys Confusion(Elektra) and American Hi-Fi (Island), he has gained insight into a range of musical genres as well as different performance styles. Aside from his experience as a solo act, Chris also has played guitar for bands including Glasseater (Fearless) and Unsung Zeros (Eulogy), where he remained a member for seven months in 2003. His latest self-produced, full length album "Bridges" is available at all live shows as well as on his self-designed website http://www.WordsNowHeard.com. His album has a folky, relaxed, college-rock feel, and is reminiscent of the styles of Jack Johnson, James Taylor, and Dave Matthews. His new material is taking on a more pop-rock, soulful mentality, focusing on the songs as a whole rather than the technicality of the music.
