Ben Thomas
Driven by the simple desire to create music representing the authentic human experience, Ben Thomas weaves together elements of Folk, Indie and Progressive Rock music with an unforgettable sense of melody that leaves the listener hungry for more. After writing and performing his songs in Chicago-area coffeehouses and clubs for nearly 10 years, the 26-year old Thomas has finally released his first full-length studio album, The Recovery.
"I'm thrilled about how it turned out," Thomas explains, "it sort of steps
out of the speakers and grabs you. It's definitely got the intensity I was going for when I started the project.some songs are all out loud rock and roll; some are so subdued it's deafening. pretty dynamic."
The Recovery is a "soundtrack of healing" (The Naperville Sun: November 5, 2004) that attempts to evoke an emotional response from the listener.
Musically, it is both nostalgic and progressive. Lyrically, it engages the
listener in discussions about faith, hope, joy, and the complete lack thereof. It is a 14-song collection that needs to be experienced. Sit for a while. Listen loud.
