Audrey Ryan performs original alternative jazz/rock with pop tendencies. Her music is lyrical, eclectic, innovative, and has been described as "genre-bending" and "multi-genred" by many. Tunes vary from a poppy rock song to a latin beat to a jazz groove, a folk song to a funky rock diddy. Her band has toured nationally performing in many colleges, clubs, and bars to very responsive crowds. Audrey's favorite modern bands are Radiohead, Wilco, and Stereolab. "My generation was listening to Guns-N-Roses while my parents listened to Dylan, Cash, Neil Young, and Joni Mitchel. And somehow this all makes it into the sound." Since releasing her debut full record in July 2004 songs from "Passing Thru" are being featured on NPR's show "All Songs Considered" and clips played on "Marketplace" regularly, with an audience of 7 million, and also varoius songs have been liscenced for use in a Hollywood film coming out in 2005. She is also signed with Petraion Music in South Africa where her music is being distributed and plans to tour in the near future. The band just completed two national tours this winter and spring in the Southeast and Midwest. Audrey Ryan is based in Cambridge, MA and performs nationwide. | ||
