Sparkwood
Sparkwood is an Austin-based power pop band. Centered around the songwriting of vocalist and keyboardist Bart Padar. The band crafts elegant and dynamic musical arrangements with lush vocal harmonies. Critics have compared Sparkwood's sound to musical luminaries such as Jellyfish, Queen, Cheap Trick, Fountains of Wayne and ELO. The band plays in many Austin venues such as The Continental Club, Hole in the Wall and Trophy's. In February 2005 Sparkwood released a second full-length CD Jalopy Pop. Jalopy Pop has already earned many stellar reviews in magazines around the globe, not to mention continual airplay! Sparkwood has also just signed a distribution deal for both Jalopy Pop and La La Crutch with Colourfield / Excellent Records in Japan. Sparkwood features Mike Reynolds former drummer of Sleepwalkers, Sean Crooks of The Alice Rose, and guitarist Mark Doroba of Three Years Ghost. Sparkwood is currently working on their third CD, planned for release in early 2006. Stay tuned! |
