Origially named Handsome Pete, the miles have been cranking out their unique brand of original rock music since 2003. At the heart of the miles’ allure is the interplay of the Liss brothers’ acoustic and electric guitars. Alternately hard-driving and subtly stirring, the miles’ music is propelled by high-energy hooks and contagious choruses. A wide range of influences can be heard in their songs from the dynamic flourishings of Dave Matthews to the upbeat garage rock of The Strokes-- but the result is a sound all their own. the miles earned a reputation for crowd-rousing live performances opening for established acts such as Michael McDermott, Glen Phillips and the Samples, and have dominated the stage at Chicago mainstays like the Double Door, Martyr’s, The Beat Kitchen and Hoghead McDunna’s. | ||
