My name is Sam Lewis and I feel that the word ‘I’ is often overused in these types of cover letters. So I will from here on out describe myself in the third person for your reading pleasure:

Sam Lewis is swell guy and he’s pursuing the stage performer position with Uncommon Ground. Between his time spent serenading his wife in his boxers to managing drunken crowds from club to club, he is fully equipped with the necessary experience and skills to make a strong addition to Uncommon Ground's long line of stellar performers. He is a natural at customer service and believes in effective communication with clients in addition to coworkers within the organization.

Aside from his customer service, sales and marketing experience, he is a self-taught web and graphic designer. With extensive knowledge of modern technology, Sam excels at accomplishing his daily tasks in a most time efficient way. His personal interest in computers and technology has earned him a proud status of “geek” amongst his friends.

Sam earned his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana where he majored in Sociology and Statistics. He’s extremely well versed in office programs such as Windows, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Project, Access and graphic design programs like Adobe Photoshop, Flash MX and Macromedia Dreamweaver.

His goal is to secure a position that offers a friendly environment where he can offer his skills and experience as an asset to the team while expanding his ever-growing knowledge base. His strengths in verbal and written communication make him an ideal candidate. Plus he can write some really good fucking songs.
