Acoustic soul-meets-alternative-country…Acoustic guitars, upright bass...plucked and bowed…Americana, root-sy, with intense feeling and rich vocal harmonies. After performing for a number of years in bands in Nashville and Austin, singer/guitarist/drummer, Ben Musser, headed to the cold of New York City to find an upright bass player who shared similar musical philosophies. After a year of looking hi and low (and while working for the legendary Malcolm Holcombe), Musser finally found the perfect compliment to his style in upright bassist and singer, Tucker Yaro. Yaro quickly recognized the unique sound Musser was heading towards; a blend of acoustic-Americana, soul, and alt-country, and was immediately enthusiastic. Within weeks, Musser and Yaro were attracting huge crowds on NYC subway platforms and venues began booking them with no demo. Benyaro was officially born in April of 2005. |
