K.C. Kurtwood
At the turn of the Millennium, K.C. returned to the music he loved, acoustic folk/rock, after years of using electricity to drive his sound. No longer needing a backline, he started playing out local bars, clubs and coffee houses everywhere he traveled. And he has traveled a lot, performing in Boston, New York, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Iowa City, Columbus, Indianapolis, Louisville, Nashville, and Tampa Bay. He has played at great venues like The Mill, Tavern on the Water, Thirsty Ear, Molly Malone's, Skipper's Smokehouse, Globe Coffee Lounge, Tavern at Bayboro, Sacred Grounds Coffeehouse and many others. People say his sound is reminiscent of Gordon Lightfoot, another weary traveling minstrel. The end result is a sound filled with plenty of life experience, a lot of songs about the road, love songs that nobody writes anymore, and several tunes about life in his home town. |
