Nic Engel the musician = takes things seriously Nic Engel the person = does *NOT* take things seriously ...Only when he stops playing and starts bantering with the audience about his ***love for pants*** do you realize it is, in fact, the same person. He's as likely to introduce a song by dedicating it to your girlfriend as give you an honest synopsis. Duality is as much a part of Nic's music as it is of himself. Blazing an eccentric swath through ***folk, acoustic, prog, and rock***, nic has found an uncrowded niche to work from. He's made his way through Albany, Boston, New York City, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and beyond. From coordinating art & music festivals to holding private concerts in building stairwells (don't tell campus security), he's done everything possible to give something back to his supporters. His dedication earned him Boondock Productions' ***Solo Artist of the Year*** award for 2005. If you like his music, he will genuinely appreciate it (and tell you so). If you make it to a show, he will shake your hand or give you a hug. He will play whatever you ask for, assuming he remembers how. On the off-chance that he doesn't, be prepared for anything from Disney covers to video game theme songs as recompense. Nic will be on a DIY cross-country tour through March and April, complementing formal shows with informal sessions, thanks to PA equipment that he designed himself using his engineering and acoustic backgrounds. |
