Spark Shop
Spark Shop is a solo multimedia performance project by singer/songwriter/designer, David "Show Pow Kid" Wycoco, which combines an alternative pop sound with a vibrant visual experience.
The concept of Spark Shop came to David upon his travels from his home in Ontario to perform in Chicago. It is in Chicago where he was inspired to elevate his solo acoustic performances to what he considers an intimate solo multimedia hybrid show. Armed with guitars, synthisizer, congo drum, laptops, a loop pedal and a video projector, Spark Shop takes his music and solo performance to a different level. Spark Shop is an experience filled with music, humor, and spirit.
2006 sees the release of Spark Shop's new album: Almost There and No Where Near it, which is all written, performed and produced by David Wycoco himself. The album is born out of the experiences of love, loss, redemption, and paying homage more to his Filipino-Canadian background. Spark Shop is gearing up for shows in the U.S. and Canada with special performances at Universities and Colleges.
Spark Shop isn't just about performing music. Spark Shop isn't just an alias for a one man multimedia show. It's also a message. A message for us to look in ourselves and find the great ideas that will help make positive changes in the world.
