Lamajamal is dedicated to the survival of traditional music and the creation of creative, soulful "world music." The art and folk music of the Middle East, Eastern Europe, North and West Africa and the Americas, have influenced us through our studying and performing their traditions. All of the musicians in Lamajamal have played numerous styles of music, all have played in experimental groups, and all have played and studied in traditional settings, as well as performing in the actual regions our music comes from. All of these elements have fused together and guide the direction of our music. |
