CONVERGENCE was brought to life when Rob and Nick began working at Studiomedia Recording in 2001. “I cleaned a lot of toilets” remembers Rob. “It wasn’t glamorous. I had no idea what I was doing there, but it was the first time I got a taste of knowing what I wanted to do.”
Coming from different backgrounds, Nick had been playing music his entire life, while Rob’s path to music was for more chivalrous reasons. “Yeah, I was interning to impress a girl. Still working on that.”
In late 2007 Rob threw down the gauntlet and began collaborating with music producer Danny Shaffer to flush out some of the songs he’d been working on. After a few months of putting together demos of new songs, Rob sent Nick an email out of the blue. “It was strange because I hadn’t heard from Rob for close to a year, but before I opened it, I knew what it was. Almost like he sent out the bat signal.”
Having maintained an enduring desire to see their music come to fruition, the title for upcoming album LIGHT OF DAY, is an appropriate fit. Playing off one another’s strengths has lead to a progressive singer/songwriter style reminiscent of Radiohead, The Frames, Howie Day, and Jump Little Children. Watch for the release of LIGHT OF DAY in late ’08.
