Trapper Schoepp
The Trapper Schoepp Band is a refreshing display of
aspiring talent characterized by an acoustic
guitar-driven sound supported by some smooth bass,
beating drums, tasteful keyboards, touches of violin,
and a dancing guitar. The Trapper Schoepp Band's sound
is ultimately driven by reflecting lyrics and budding
tenor voice of Trapper. David Boigenzahn, on lead
guitar, plays creative riffs with certain originality.
The simple, but fitting rhythms established by the
drumming of David Dulak and Tanner Schoepp (who shares
drumming duties, along with bass) offers a sense of
style which is key to their overall wall of sound.
The past three years the band has been playing around
the Twin Cities and Wisconsin area at venues and
festivals such as The Varsity Theater, The Mabel
Tainter Theater, The Hobgoblin, Oak Center General
Store, Gingko Coffeehouse, The Acadia Cafe, Stockholm
Art Festival, Acoustic Cafe, Lower Town Art Crawl,
Loring Pasta Bar (Red Room), Anodyne @ 43rd, Twin
Cities Underground, various Starbucks, Dunn Bros, The
Blue Moon and many more.
On November 23rd, the Trapper Schoepp Band
independently released their debut album titled "A
Change in the Weather." On the CD you will hear 9
original tracks that were the product of a summer's
worth of professional recording. The producing of the
album took place at Cricket Studios, the home studio
of Bruce Hecksel of Patchouli, and the mastering was
done in Minneapolis at Magneto Mastering. The album is
available at local record stores, iTunes, Cd Baby and
at live shows.
The Trapper Schoepp Band is influenced by the
alternative sounds of bands such as Wilco and
Radiohead, and also incorporate songwriting elements
similar to Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen. The Trapper
Schoepp Band music and live performances reveal the
band's passion for sharing their music, as well as
showing the simple happiness they derive from playing
music with friends.
