Scottish McMillan
Born and raised in Des Plaines, IL, to a "type A" dad and a "typo" mom, divorced long after they should have been, I grew up hating everything fake, regardless of how pretty or nice it seemed. That hatred transferred into my music, which I started making around 1981. After years of sucking at guitar, I finally took some private lessons around 1995 with jazz great Frank Dawson. Now, I suck at guitar, but I understand why. I learned to sing by screaming along with Janes Addiction, Primus, and Soundgarden in the car with the windows rolled up.

My noteworthy landmarks:
- Quit smoking trees and drinking jet fuel in 2002
- Recorded first proper CD, "Vice Verses", playing all instruments and singing all parts
- formed trio and played all over Chicago both solo and with band, at places like Schuba's, House of Blues, and the Mutiny
- Toured the UK twice for a month at a time, and had a blast - can't wait to go back
- After years of O.J.T, I started a sound engneering business, so I wouldn't have to play lame-ass cover tunes to make money
- found a hot-lookin'girl with a brain, who could tolerate my whimsical use of the word "apocalypse", and decided to be a boyfriend, despite the inherent risks to my sanity
- recorded a song for a high-profile compilation CD (www.acoustic-chicago.com), from Stonecutter Records, with hopes of big rock stardom, or at least a couple more good gigs
- wrote this dynamic, compelling biography.

I'm "getting the band back together", and when the right bassist shows up, we'll get out there again.
