Rich Miller

31-year-old Chicago-born musician Rich Miller is a singer, a songwriter and a multi-instrumentalist.

Rich's debut album as Waiflike is Fifty Pence Piece of Mind. As an adolescent, Rich studied classical guitar, but he couldn’t sustain interest in that style so he put the instrument down until he was 14 when he taught himself how to play chords. By 18, Rich was singing and writing for the eccentric ensemble enema thief. Despite that, by 23 Rich discovered that a democracy could be draining and difficult to deal with. He also desired distance to develop his dexterity as a dramatist. As a result, he declared his discontent and decided to depart. Consequently, the band broke up.

In 1999 Rich released “Elysium” under the moniker Spill and in 2002 he released “waiting for the tide” under his own full name, Richard Neal Miller.

Even though Fifty Pence Piece of Mind is Rich's album, he had help from first-rate friends Avi Kopernik (From Zero, Colonel Stem), Robert Palos (Ode), Jason Keppe (La Cassette) and Kevin Becker (Redneck Eats) as well as exceptional engineer & clever co-producer Andy Lagis.

By listening to the melodic “Money & Movie Stars” the weighty "What Are We Waiting for Now" the grouchy "Glass of Something" the noteworthy "Not At All Alone" the moody "My Baby Backed Over My Heart Again" the whimsical "Why is the Bed so Wet" the pensive "Plastic Pigs" and the callous "Cabbage & Cadavers", it is clear that Rich is capable of crafting compelling compositions.

In a peculiar period of pretentious pop pointed at pubescent pawns, Rich Miller has learned to simply search his soul, grab his guitar and make music.
