I was born and raised in Lima, Ohio and have loved making art since the 3rd grade. I earned my BFA and teaching degree from Bowling Green State University.
I moved to Chicago in 1998 for my first teaching job, where I taught and shared my enthusiam for Art to K-8th graders for eight yrs. Supportive administrators allowed me to use my classroom as a studio on the weekends and summer.
At the first art festival I participated in, a buyer from Saks Fifth Avenue bought 9 of my shoe paintings for their Las Vegas store. This was a pivotal sale in my career, that gave me the confidence to continue following my dream.
My work has been exhibited at Chicago Pop Artist, Peter Mars' gallery, Uncommon Ground, and was featured at the Lincoln Park Pottery Barn in 2011. While being the first featured local artist at Pottery Barn, my artwork was purchased by Columbia College President, Dr. Warrick L. Carter and his wife for their collection.
My sneaker paintings gained more attention when the Chicago Bulls auctioned off my autographed Derrick Rose sneaker painting for a Bulls charity event. Since then my sneakers paintings are regularly featured on the popular sneaker site, Nice Kicks.
My artwork has continued to be used for various Chicago Bulls events. In 2014 I painted live on the floor of the United Center for Benny the Bull's Birthday Bash during a Bulls game.
My artwork has noticeably evolved over the past 15 years. As I've matured and become a wife and mother, my life has become more rich, meaningful, and layered. My current artwork is a direct reflection of that.
Saks Fifth Avenue purchased 9 of my acrylic paintings of high heels for their Las Vegas Store.
