Them Damn Kids Acoustic Rock Them Damn Kids fashion music which uniquely satiates many disparate tastes, simply because it is founded upon the wisdom of the varied characters from previous generations. Coming forth from the womb of working class families, Them Damn Kids arose to create their musical structures shortly after having met at the university in the fall of 2000. Bringing the wealth of experience bred through life known only in a rural context, Chris’ lyrical content leans heavily upon an oft-unrivaled use of imagery and metaphor, while his guitar playing hearkens back to that of Richie Havens. Rolland plays the guitar with an inspiration fueled by the legacy of Steve Gaines and Allen Collins, while moving about with the influence of a father who spoke only a musical dialect that existed and revolved around the likes of Grant Green, Maynard Ferguson, and Miles Davis. rn Them Damn Kids take aim at the goal of creating essential, barren sounds, while glancing with thick lenses at this culture and the encounter of twenty-first century North America. Hanging pietistic iconography of Haggard, Guthrie, Cash, Dylan, Jennings, Cohen, Tupelo, Wilco, Son Volt, Whiskeytown, Nelson, Cline, Williams, Knopfler, Atkins, Watson, Stradlin and Skynard upon the architecture, these gentlemen wish to tread these paths of the future with trepidation and with open ears to those voices of the saints that have gone before.rn Upon completion of a brief six-month hiatus, the Kids had brought themselves together again in Chicago around Dec 2003 in order to continue this development of a sound. They show marked development in style and arrangement as their own forms and shapes come to crest above this landscape shaped by the tectonic plates of experiences and memories.rn Contact Them Damn Kids:Website: http://www.myspace.com/themdamnkidsEmail Them Damn Kids: |
