Matt Kelly Singer Songwriter Through carefully formulated, fluid lyrics, that likewise cut like fangs, Matt Kelly envelopes surprising, intuitive stories along with the presentation of sharp angles on world situations. Flowing progressions of guitar and multi-instrumental arrangements leave many listeners obsessed with digging deeper into his acute understanding. The upcoming 2009 EP, “With Love, From Somewhere In Between”, is a melting pot of experiences in encountering curious people, how they effect one another, and necessarily leaving things behind to branch into new situations in our twisted world. Matt Kelly is from a surrounding neighborhood of Philadelphia. He uses it a platform and stage, where physical visions of lyrics are driven out of a hard working town lost in both love, and transition. In a town where souls lean on one another to keep afloat, the sense of pride is endless, yet the people are indefinitely down to Earth. Kelly takes the invaluable virtues he has learned from constantly diving head first, and fuses them into the urban nuances of Chicago. This presents a driving force of intriguing guitar progressions and lustful, relentless lyrics, that press the soul to the floor but solidify it’s existence even further. The track "Wicker Park" takes listeners through a series of flash thoughts of the surrounding Chicago city that portray the urban landscape and its inhabitants almost as blurry points of an epic dream. Speaking against the social norm, “Natural” convinces a woman that her true beauty does not reside in the mirror front layout of makeup and accessories, but within herself. Kelly takes stellar messages and upfront agendas to the people and allows them to conclude where they want to be, and should be, within a spinning world of unique bodies and mindsets.
