Finalist in CMT’s “Music City Madness Singer/Songwriters Competition” and “Top 20 Video Countdown,” Don Pedigo has become a heavy hitter in the Nashville music scene. His notoriety, partially due to exposure and support from CMT, is also because he has the ability to stand out among an endless sea of singer/songwriters on his own accord. Don possesses raw, honest, talent and an authentic Mid-Western charm often absent in is peers. The “heartthrob” moniker is legitimate but secondary to his passion for well-written music and engaging live performances.

Rob Klerkx is well known as drummer for bands like Moke and Paulusma, but is mainly active as songwriter and frontman for his own collective Rob Klerkx & The Secret. “Essentially I’m a songwriter, that also plays the drums. Music is such a beautiful medium to talk about the big subjects in life. That’s my passion; sharing and connecting with people. That’s what I admire in artists like Damien Rice, PJ Harvey, Nick Cave and bands like Pearl Jam and The Black Crowes.”

The music itself is often described as ‘explosive Americana,’ but surely there’s so much more to that. With his band The Secret, Rob Klerkx tries to break through the boundaries of various musical dimensions. De band explores a broad range of genres and balances between being experimental and writing & playing great songs about the big subjects of life.  Either live on stage or recording in their studio, Rob Klerkx & The Secret likes to push the musical limits; the band’s musical roots can be found in straight pop, psychedelic rock, southern rock and soft Americana, influenced by the rich songwriting history of Nashville. Rob has a contract with the NSAI (Nashville Songwriters Association International), and frequently heads down to Nashville to play and write with local artists.

Moving to Chicago in the winter of 2013 by train with 4 bags and 2 guitars, Liz Chidester immersed herself into the Chicago music scene, releasing her debut record "People Pumping Pedals" in 2014 under CAU Dog Records. In 2015, she released the EP "Otter Hill", an intimate recording of 5 songs about her family and home life in Virginia. Her songs received recognition by NPR's Newsong Songwriting Competition as the 2014 Mid-west Finalist, the Chicago Music Awards Best Female Vocalist Nominee in 2015, and a New-Song Songwriter Competition Finalist in 2016.

Her music inspired the talent of close friends and family to create the electronic folk group Liz and the Lovelies. Joining her on stage at Uncommon Ground will be Lewis Rawlinson, vocalist/cellist of Liz and the Lovelies.
