Phil Yates is the main songwriter and ringleader of Phil Yates & The Affiliates. Formerly based out of Burlington, Vermont, Phil once again calls Chicago home after a decade away. Phil has played shows with The Mountain Goats, The Cave Singers, Holly Golightly & The Brokeoffs, The Babies, The Dead Milkmen’s Joe Jack Talcum, Anderson East, and The Push Stars. Phil Yates & The Affiliates’ latest album, Party Music!, was released in April 2018 on Futureman Records.
Paradiddle Records Recording Artist Pete Mancini got his start as the frontman and primary songwriter of Butchers Blind, a critically acclaimed rock band from NYC. His debut solo album Foothill Freeway explores the Americana influences that were a hallmark of his work with his former band.
Mancini was inspired to release Foothill Freeway after hearing the story songs of artists like Guy Clark and Bruce Springsteen. This storytelling influence is on full display throughout the title track, which features a sparse arrangement reminiscent of Jason Isbell and Jackson Browne. In addition to the original songs on the album, Mancini tackled renditions of songs by Russ Seeger, Wes Houston, and Iain Matthews (Fairport Convention, Plainsong), who is a guest vocalist on “Cartwheel Avenue”.
Mancini’s songs have received glowing reviews and radio airplay around the world, and they continue to win over hearts and minds wherever they are heard. Over the years, Mancini has opened for acts such as Blues Traveler, Gin Blossoms, Pure Prairie League, Robbie Fulks, James Maddock, Marah, Steve Forbert, Kevin Gordon, and Iain Matthews. He is currently touring in support of Foothill Freeway with his band, the Hillside Airmen.
