Saxophonist, Multi-Instrumentalist and Music Educator Sam Pilnick received his Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education and Jazz Studies at the Crane School of Music in Potsdam, NY, where he studied with Robert Young and received a Masters of Music in Jazz Studies at 

Western Michigan University, where he studied with Andrew Rathbun and Scott Cowan. As a performer and composer, Sam explores a variety of performance and compositional styles including bebop, contemporary jazz, and creative music for both large and small ensembles.

Sam leads The Sam Pilnick Project, a jazz collective that performs original works in Chicago, IL and Kalamazoo, MI. The Sam Pilnick Project has been featured on 102.1 WMUK in Kalamazoo, MI. In 2018 they released their second EP “Pure Imagination”. Sam has performed with Lucas Pino, Edward Simon, Randy Brecker and others. 

Led by chameleonic Saxophonist / Multi-Reedist Kyle Madsen, the Kyle Madsen Trio performs an eclectic mix of chordless music that reflects the diversity of Chicago, and it's wide-ranging music scene. Featuring drums, bass, and saxophone/woodwinds, the group performs diverse mix of worldwide music from the past and present. Everything from post bop jazz, modern avant garde, and R&B hits are explored by this instrumental trio.
