Chris DuPont w/ Rin Tarsy & Elizabeth Swan - 7pm | $10

  • uncommon ground (edgewater) 1401 W Devon Ave chicago United States (map)

Avid lyricist and “think piece” composer Chris DuPont hails from the quirky and eclectic Ypsilanti, Michigan, and is a seasoned veteran of the midwest music scene. His hybrid finger-style approach to guitar-playing is a nod to classical minimalism, but sure to get you nodding your head too. Chris is influenced by a wide range of artists and composers from Philip Glass to Tycho, from James Taylor to Ryan Adams to Oh Wonder.
Chris’s newest work (Floodplains, debuting Fall 2019) is an enchanted tour of memory—how it fascinates, and how it is flawed. Retaining his contemplative outlook and characteristically moral center, Floodplains sees DuPont’s writing voice explode into maturity, resulting in an album that is challenging, uplifting, and continually unfolding with each listen.

Rin Tarsey

Elizabeth Swan is a captivating Indie/Folk singer-song writer, environmental activist and feminist from upstate New York. Writing songs since the age of 5 she has an acute ability to create beauty and flow into her music. Although she is a new artist she has a big following. Her first open mic she was approached by a couple claiming her music was “amazing!” while others claim they are “blown away”. Her music will have you in tears. She will touch move and inspire those with even the coldest hearts. Her music has an amazing ability to bring those from different backgrounds and beliefs together. Her fans come from the US, Peru, Spain, and England! She has performed all over the world and is working on her first album “Place you love”. Her goals with music are to bind humanity together and inspire the world in ways some might say are unimaginable.
