Double Starch consists of Michelle Hallman, Schaefer Hugebeck, Joe Faught. They play a healthy mix of original and cover songs with a soulful rock sound. Michelle has been a staple in the Chicago music scene for years. She has played with the likes of Funkhouse, Mr. Blotto, Butterfly McQueen and Umphreys McGee, and many others. Her voice has graced many studio recordings and jingles as well. She is also a voice teacher.
Schaefer is an accomplished guitarist and teacher. He has played in many musical projects such as Fruitful Dave and Not Now Son and has worked with several prominent musicians. Joe is a well versed bass player and teacher. he has played with Paul Cherry, Will Tilson, Sway, and many others. Mack is a Berklee College of Music graduate who spent 4 years studying under celebrated faculty members such as Mitch Haupers, Mike Mangini and Kim Plainfield. He also a drum teacher and has performed all over in bands like The Relevant elephants and Dear Dario. Michelle, Schaefer, and Joe have been working together for years and look forward to Mack joining the band. They've enjoyed playing in different musical situations, and have finally decided to start a project together: Double Starch.
Soft Rain Airplane is a Chicago based DIY band, playing folk and jazz influenced alternative rock. The band was formed in 2016, when founding members Jason Gassel, Ryan Callis, and Max Kleinberg began writing, recording, and producing their debut album Feast of Frenzy. Characterized by catchy melodies, clever lyrics, and dynamic instrumentals, Soft Rain Airplane incorporates contrasting styles and moods to shape their unique sound.
