  • Uncommon Ground (Edgewater) 1401 West Devon Avenue Chicago, IL, 60660 United States (map)

G.H. Jackson is an Americana singer-songwriter from San Antonio, TX. He is a recent transplant to Chicago and serves on Lake Michigan as a member of the Coast Guard. Jackson blends a history of punk, country and folk music to write Introspective yet bluntly simple lyrics over traditional instrumentation. He has performed over a fifteen year time span and has released three original albums to date.

Jory Avner is a singer-songwriter based out of Chicago, Illinois. Blending traditional folk style lyricism and guitar with textured synthesizers and electronic percussion he strives to create soundscapes that are both atmospherically complex and yet succinct in terms of narrative. He often performs his songs live as a solo acoustic artist. Jory is also the vocalist and lead songwriter in the folk/rock band Andretta and the president and founder of Half Glass Records.

Nikki Morgan is a singer-songwriter based in Chicago but with the heart of a true Carolina girl. As a singer and a writer her style takes the form of country/folk with a beautiful splash of soul and often explores the duality and truth that lies in the many facets of life. As she continues her journey you can find her belting out at various venues and open mics around the city.

Buttery bass-driven bumpers topped by a smoothly crooning voice, Zion‘s songs go down like sweet barrel-aged bourbon.” Zion Rodman established himself as a soulful folk-rock musician in Boston. While he lived in New England, he performed at historic folk venues like Club Passim and Caffe Lena, and shared the stage with Ellis Paul and Jeffrey Gaines. Zion is currently based in Chicago, where he released his new EP Did Not Wake up Today and quickly became an integral part of the folk/rock music scene and came out in 1st place at the Uncommon Ground 2018 Open Mic Competition.

Mirabelle Skipworth is a singer-songwriter from Oswego, IL who has performed throughout the Chicagoland area. Her music is rooted in alternative and folk genres.
Currently, she is working with her band, The Paper Boats.
