Cloudtone makes shimmery rock noises and is based in Chicago.
Dramamine, the title track on Chicago artist Bailey Minzenberger’s most recent album, features ambient, guitar-heavy melodies that fade in and out like a late-night AM radio station. “Who I am writing for? I don’t know”, They ask. In the live show, they’re joined by their full band- Georgia Swinand, Niko Kapetan, and Jack Lickerman, childhood friends now joining forces for an earnest show that embraces nature, life’s big questions, and what to do when you get an answer you weren’t expecting.
Bailey Minzenberger most recently played Knox College and SPACE in Evanston IL, and look forward to touring this summer. Their most recent album, Dramamine, was produced by Erik Lobo of Wolf’s Den studios and was embraced by crowds throughout the midwest following its release this March 2019.
Etzkorn Wong’s music is as eclectic as his upbringing. Born in Chicago, Etzkorn Wong was raised by two families—one of Vietnam War refugees and the other Kentucky drag-racers. When asked how he describes his sound, he responded “imagine Frank Ocean, David Bowie, and Bruce Lee all had a baby”. His lyrics weave together narratives of individual dysfunction, collective frustration, and political turmoil, as if they were all one in the same. A quintessential millennial, his music exudes a seemingly contradictory mixture of both naïve idealism and apathetic cynicism while questioning himself, his relationships, and ultimately the dystopia that his generation was raised in.
