This fun evening features multiple generations of musicians connected to Agassiz Elementary as they come together to share songs and support music education! All proceeds from this event will be directed to the Agassiz Music Department to purchase needed supplies and equipment. This is an all-ages show!
The Agassiz Guitar Club is a 10 year-old, after-school musical haven providing interested students the fundamentals of guitar, bass, percussion, and vocals. The program uses a student-centered approach and builds on a repertoire of songs selected by the members of the group. With an eye toward performance experience, the club often prepares for and performs at school assemblies and fundraisers, providing the students real-life opportunities to grow in skill and confidence. The advanced group is excited for this opportunity to be on the Uncommon Ground stage to provide rocking support for the general instructional music program at Agassiz!
Resounding Wayves consists of music lovers and multi-instrumentalists Matt Heimer, Peter Buttitta, Jim Manzardo, and Matt Yanny-Tillar (an Agassiz parent). Together, they deliver harmony-rich originals and covers in ways that inevitably leave audiences feeling the joy and collaborative nature of song. The band is delighted and honored to partner with Agasssiz Elementary to directly benefit the school’s music program in order to ensure that another generation of music lovers has opportunities to flourish!
Andrew Tinich has been playing guitar since 8th grade. Now, some 25 years later, he is playing in numerous bands in Chicago. In addition to providing passionate instruction to the Guitar Club at Agassiz, he passes on his love of music via private lessons. Andrew is performing at this event with a variety of collaborators intent on inspiring the next generation to make excellent live music!
