Lee Henke & Aaron Kelly - 7pm | $10

  • Uncommon Ground 3800 N Clark St Chicago United States (map)

Always on the road, currently traveling in a 1988 Volkswagen Vanagon, Lee Henke works tirelessly at his crafts. A midwestern singer-songwriter and carpenter who is sincerely dedicated to quality and simplicity. With a demand for constant progress, he delivers well-constructed songs and woodworks with a even blend of contour and grit. For the past 5 years, he has been touring the country playing 150+ shows a year. He released his first solo effort entitled Schema EP in September of 2015.

Aaron Kelly grew up thinking big and making plans, and wondering where those trains were going to. Falling under the influence of Townes Van Zandt, John Prine, and Jack Kerouac, his songs aren’t too dissimilar from those crates and packages of the last century. They carry the promise that something good is coming. These are songs meant to ease a burden and bring a smile, carefully crafted and made to last.

Aaron has been featured by American Songwriter Magazine, and released Barefoot and Bottomed Out, his first solo album, in 2016, after zig-zagging across the country for the last 7 years with his band, Overman. His second solo record will be released in spring 2019.
