A Chicago based vocalist and songwriter, Carolina Galaxia brings a vibrant, fearless, female empowered presence into the pop music scene. You may know her as the frontwoman of the alternative rock band, Golden Sol, which was formed in 2017. While in Golden Sol, she, along with the three other members of the band have performed live at many locations across the Chicagoland area, including the Metro. Alongside that endeavor, she is breaking from the alt-rock universe and on the journey of making a name for herself in a solo career as a pop vocalist. The beginning of this new adventure starts on March 11 with the release of her debut single, “Caged Bird Sing” as not only a solo artist but, an artist as a whole. At its core, “Caged Bird Sing” is a testament of her internal monologues as a young adult with internal growing pains, unresolved baggage, and awakening to self-awareness. Until the past couple of years, Carolina never considered herself a songwriter, only a performer; therefore, in this single, she hopes to reach audiences who need that extra helping hand in discovering who they are as an artist, an individual, and what their place is in this universe. Since the beginning, her core goal was to and continues to be writing music collaboratively within the rock genre and now, extending that towards her own personal influences to discover her own sound. In this personal discovery, she looks to Lady Gaga, Bill Withers, Billie Holiday, SZA, Kelly Clarkson, Amanda Miguel, Cuco, Natalie Prass, and Amy Winehouse. With a variety of artists as her influence, Chicago can expect an artist with a bona fide sound that shines through her personality. As Shirley Manson says, “The most powerful thing you can do as a woman in music is be authentic.” That is exactly what listeners can expect from Carolina Galaxia, authenticity.
