Homegrown Residency at Uncommon Ground is a weekly residency offering emerging Chicago musicians a fertile bed to plant their roots and grow. Every Tuesday for one month, a new emerging band tests their new material, reveals their ongoing process and are joined by hand picked guests as listeners enjoy beer from Greenstar Brewery, the first all organic brewery in IL, and food from the first 4-star restaurant with a certified organic rooftop farm in the U.S.

$1 out of every cover charge is donated to Lakeview Pantry to help nourish our local community!

Saltwater Tap brings elements of Soul, Folk, and just about everything in between to the stage. With 6 musicians, the band provides a large but intimate sound awash with tight background vocals, mellow guitar lines, and tasteful keyboard grooves.

With an emphasis on hard-hitting and meaningful songwriting, they keep a certain 70s type of sound alive, and never fail to mention the importance of hydration.

Poor Calvin is a Chicago based band bringing new life to both rock and blues. The old soul of singer-songwriter Brian Doherty (vocals, rhythm guitar) is captured in his introspective lyrics and timeless melodies, with the modern indie rock rhythms of Evan Opitz (guitar), Kevin McMahon (bass), and Jimmy Kowalczyk (percussion). Poor Calvin writes music that will make you cry or dance, depending on your mood that day.
