Quartet Davis is a string quartet from Oberlin, Ohio dedicated to exploring a wide range of musical traditions. Unified in their commitment to pushing the boundaries of chamber music, the quartet embeds improvisation into original pieces and arrangements of traditional and contemporary works, celebrating the possibilities of the string quartet format and adding their own vocals. Violinists Camille Vogley-Howes and Molly Tucker, violist Emily Edelstein, and cellist Karl Henry come from a different musical backgrounds, but they ultimately integrate their fluency across a range of musical styles, such as Jazz, Blues, R&B, Bluegrass, and traditional Nordic folk music. The quartet formed shortly before embarking on a U.S. Embassy-sponsored tour of Amman, Jordan in January 2017 where they performed with the Jordan Orchestra and taught lessons and workshops at local schools.
