Cassidy Rae was born in Rockford, IL and has been singing since she can remember. As a child, she was constantly humming tunes throughout the house and in the classrooms, even so much it got her in trouble at school. She attended Auburn High School in Rockford, IL to be in the city’s well known Creative and Performing Arts program choir. She would sing wherever she could, performing in school talent shows and competing in karaoke contests in her early years. Growing up with an array of music, her sole influences came to be Mariah Carey, Amy Winehouse, Erykah Badu, Stevie Wonder, and many others alike.
"Hauntingly sweet”, Sunflower Summit is a Chicago based Singer/Songwriter. With her ukulele and her voice, Sunflower Summit is on a mission to be kind and loving and connect on a fundamentally human level. The name “Sunflower Summit” comes from a love for community and flowers; sunflowers are her favorite flowers, and the word summit refers to a space where many meet. Influenced by classical, folk, and pop genres, sunflower summit creates playful, rhythmic ukulele riffs to accent her soprano tone and add color to image-driven lyrics. Her debut record Love Notes is in the making and will be released in the fall.
This is Asia McKenzie's live debut for her original songs and couldn't be more honored to do it at Uncommon Ground! Although this is her first time performing original songs, this is not her first time under the stage lights. Back in May, Asia received her Bachelors degree in Musical Theatre at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. Here are 3 things you don't know about Asia: 1. Her favorite artists are Ariana Grande and Beyonce 2. Thrift shopping is her favorite activity and 3. Her number one dream is to be able to create an album that she produced, wrote, and sung by herself. Hope you enjoy! Come and say hi after the show!
