Punting Baxter w/ ANDIE & Such Jam Much Chill - 8PM | $10

  • Uncommon Ground - Lakeview 3800 North Clark Street Chicago, IL, 60613 United States (map)

Punting Baxter are an indie rock band that formed in the basements of DePaul’s music school. The group sounds like a combination of Courtney Barnett, King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, and a flavor of the Talking Heads. They have covered many genres ranging from punk to jazz-rock throughout their development as musicians. Punting Baxter's current sound is much softer than previous iterations, with inspiration from artists like Mac Demarco.

ANDIE is a singer-songwriter new to the Chicago scene. With her sharp lyrics & sultry voice, she creates a uniquely atmospheric environment. She is currently attending Columbia College Chicago to pursue a degree in Contemporary Music. Her first EP, “Night Show”, is available on all music platforms. Her 2nd EP, “Over It”, will be available spring 2019.

Such Jam Much Chill is a Chicago lofi jam band that will get your feet off the floor at the drop of a hat. Led by multi-instrumentalist Isaiah Sanderman, the quartet plays a spectrum from sax driven jazzy hip hop instrumentals to mellow pop tunes with vocals. The versatile group formed from years of working in the underground music scene, and a desire to bring the best of those experiences to more people. Drawing influence from The Grateful Dead, Vulfpeck, Lettuce, Fat Night, Stevie Wonder, Snarky Puppy, Noname, and tons of great local music, the band instantly turns any room into the kind of party you want to be at.
