INSTANT TREELINE (solo) w/ Moonshine Kids, Morgan Flynn, and Day Off - 8PM | $10

  • Uncommon Ground (Lakeview) 3800 North Clark Street Chicago, IL, 60613 United States (map)

Instant Treeline is a Brooklyn-based folk rock band, founded in 2016 by Will Leet, a musician and Chris Burns, a poet. In short, their music can be described as "campfire rock with a city groove." All the songs are led by intricate lyrics and acoustic guitar soundscapes, juxtaposing the fast pace of life in New York City and the beckoning call of rural America. Hints of folk, pop, rock, country and Americana styles are found throughout their work. In December of 2016, they released their debut EP, “Morning Songs," which is available on all major streaming services. Fans of Good Old War, Ryan Adams and Guster will find themselves enjoying Instant Treeline.

Moonshine Kids are a progressive folk-rock band in Chicago. Our debut album Endless Wilderness (December 2016) explores human interactions with nature. We write songs about brains and trees and sometimes rain, and whatever we're looking at. We can be folkrock, whiskeycore, bluespunk, or whatever fits. We prefer campgrounds to studios, and we print our own t-shirts. We regret trying grocery-store moonshine.

Morgan Flynn is a singer/songwriter from the 'burbs of Chicago. She studied classical voice in college, but her execution of the pop vocal style expresses her natural grasp and affinity for the melodic. Meanwhile, Morgan's wanderlust has encouraged her to plan a year-long road trip across the US in the summer of 2019, where she hopes to play her music for those she encounters on her journey.

Day Off is a Chicago-based indie rock band formed by Andrew Milliken (Keyboard), Grant Brown (Guitar/Vox) and Kieran McCabe (Drums/Vox) in the summer of 2017. Using their only day off from work at a summer stock theater, these lads created a musical coalition (as well as a comedic origin short film) in order to take the Chicago music scene by storm and have fun doing it. Since their beginnings the band has grown into their own unique songwriting and performance style. With the release of their newest EP, “That's Ok Though”, Day Off will continue to play tunes that make you want to get up, dance, and contemplate life.
