Dream Ava began writing original songs in high school while studying musical theatre at the Chicago Academy for the Arts. What started as a love for writing and singing heartfelt a cappella songs grew into a lifelong passion for music.
Her new music reflects a deeper spiritual journey, weaving in faith-inspired themes while maintaining her signature alternative, indie style. With warmth in her voice and a radiant energy that resonates, Dream Ava offers a modern, playful approach to the divine. Her newest release, Gods Girl is available on all music streaming platforms. Many of the songs are self-produced with the help from talented producer partner Derrick Phoenix.
Derrick Phoenix began his musical journey at the age of seven in Chicago, teaching himself piano through pure observation and listening. Within a month, he was playing songs by Stevie Wonder and John Legend—before his teacher realized he wasn't reading music at all.
His extraordinary talent led him to Columbia College while still in 8th grade, where he studied under professional pianists. At Mount Carmel High School, his skills earned the school a Steinway piano donation. In 2018, Sir The Baptist of Atlantic Records invited him to tour, opening doors to collaborate with legends like Donald Lawrence, MC Lyte, and Dallas Austin.
